El.Mex Salinas Company is one of subsidiaries of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries under the (Ministry of Investment) and the company is subject to public works sector law No. 203/1991 Authorized Capital : LE 100 million (EGP) Paid-in Capital : LE 50 million (EGP) No. of shares : 5 million shares No. of employees : (999) Commercial Registration 162162 / 2003 Alexandria.The company is one of the oldest international companies in salt industry, as the generations have practiced such industry since 1801. The company has developed its production process and factories in accordance with the latest global technology. As a result of the nationalization resolutions & As per the presidential decree No. 117 of 1961 (dated 20/07/1961), El.Mex Salines (founded in 1805) & Port Said Salines (founded 1859) were incorporated into El-Nasr Salines Company. And upon approval of the Extraordinary General Assembly of the El.Nasr Salines Company in its session held on 08/27/2002, and the Ministerial Committee for Privatization on 14/11/2002, the parent company was divided to two companies. Also the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries held on 27/10/2002 agreed on, one of the two companies was to take over El.Max Salines & Port Said Salines and named " El.Mex Salines Company " and was excluded from the obligations of the long-term loans and its relating burdens, while the other company&＃39;s activity was limited to Sebbeka and Burg Al Arab Salines and its branch Salines and continued operating under its own name, (El. Nasr Salines Co.) and bore all of the long-term obligations. Minister of public works sector&＃39;s decree No. 6 of 2003 dated 21.01.2003 has been issued for establishment of El. Mex Salines Co "Egyptian Joint Stock Company" and affiliated to the Holding Company for Chemical Industries.El.Mex Salines Co. is the largest company in the field of salt production in Arab Republic of Egypt and Middle East, the company&＃39;s annual production of raw salt amounts to 1.750 million tons/year, the company exports about 750,000 tons/year of salt (raw / washed / refined) to many countries like the United States, Turkey, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Lebanon and Slovenia ... etc. The company produces salt (sodium chloride) in its various kinds, Edible & industrial. All company&＃39;s products are produced according to Egyptian standards and criteria of the Ministry of Health and are subject to periodic supervision of the Egyptian concerned authorities, as well as the Ministry of Health. The company saves no efforts to gain clients satisfaction and to meet their requirements.El.Mex Salines Co. consists of two Salines: El.Mex Salines: Total annual production of raw salt about 1.400,000 ton.Current Production Capacity: * Washed Salt: (1000,000 ton) * Edible Salt 200,000 ton (Fine & Coarse) * Refined Salt: (70,000 ton)
