BME Concern is a UK registered charity (Charity No.1116698) committed to delivering sustainable development initiatives and projects in Africa.We are committed to a strategic capacity development program(see Our Process) for women and children in all our projects that also engenders community inclusion. Our unique communal approach have been remarkably welcomed by our local hosts which continues to ensure we deliver timely and valuable results.BME Concern delivers its projects in Africa through her sister organization - Ripples in Africa.Ripples operates in the displaced settlements and small village communities where over 75% of African women live, helping them to become self-sufficient and to regain their pride by providing the resources they need to run small enterprises that generate the income to feed their families, send their children to school, break the cycle of poverty and transform their lives forever.Our projects support African village women, giving them a &＃39;hand-up&＃39; by micro-financing small projects. The aim is to empower poor village women so that they can support their children and communities and help them work their way out of poverty. We currently support over 4,700 women in 96 communities across 3 African countries and we are still growing.Anyone can start a project. Anyone can send money to Africa or raise money in Africa to fund a project. Anyone can take a picture of a rural development project and claim success. However, it takes trained and committed teams working in collaboration to build a project on a strong foundation that ensures sustainable and life changing impact.The BME Project Team works very hard to build long-term, truly sustainable projects that are held to a measurable standard of success over the long term. We&＃39;re less interested in an ever growing tally of projects than we are in seeing lives changed.
