Company Introduction
Curran Pelletsare made from timber harvested from our sister company, SeawayTimber Harvesting. Our logging crews put the trees through adelimber to remove branches and flail chipper to remove bark,leaving clean green stems to be chipped for wood pellet prodution. The clean green chips are then ground to 5/8" minus putthrough a dryer and ground again into 3/8" minus sawdust . Thesawdust is then extruded into pellets with pure compression and noadditives. Wood pellets then are passed through two shaker screensto remove sawdust and loose fines.  We take pride inthe wood pellets we produce as we are able to control the rawmaterial supply that goes into making our high quality woodpellets. We are also proud of the certifications and accredidationsour company has acheived from the hard work and dedication of allof our employees. Curran RenewableEnergy received qualification to the Pellet Fuels InstituteStandards Program as one of its first participants. This program isthe only one of its kind in the United States. Producing qualityfuel has always been our first priority, and by taking this step weare ensuring consistent fuel for our consumers.To meet thecriteria of the PFI Standards Program, we work with an independentaccredited auditing agency and testing laboratory that performsrandom monthly audits at our production facility to ensure we arefollowing the premium grade quality program. Wood pellets aretested according to the program specifications through the PFI andit's accredited lab at Timber Products Inspection. We also test inhouse on a per hour basis following the same specifications. Bytaking these steps, we ensure that our pellet quality remainsconsistent. As a programparticipant, we can proudly display the PFI Premium Graded FuelQuality Mark on our pellet bags, signifying our qualification tothe program requirements. The PFI Standards Program isrelatively new. We are one of the early adopters of this programand one of few that have qualified.  Curran RenewableEnergy is also proud to be Rainforest Alliance Certified andrecognized for meeting the rigorous standards of the ForestStewardhip Council (FSC). Curran Renewable Energy and Seaway TimberHarvesting are both FSC certified but our wood pellet plant is thefirst Biomass facility to be FSC certified in North America. TheRainforest Alliance and FSC are independent, non-governmental,not-for-profit, international organizations established to promotethe responsible management of the worldsforests.  It is importantto us to provide the highest quality wood pellets to our customers,and our participation in these programs are a symbol of ourcommitment. When finding thepellet that works best in your stove, we offer three differentvarieties, Premium Hardwood/ Softwood Blend, Premium Hardwood andPremium 100% Softwood. All of our wood pellets are graded premiumby the PFI Institute's highest standard for Residential/Commercial Densified Fuel.Â
