Hi!I am a small furniture manufacturer in Ireland and need a hinge or pivot that can be hidden in the body of a shelf. One end is fixed to a wooden partition wall and the other slides into longitudinal hole in shelf as per attached diagram. Pushing shelf towards the wall locks the knuckle joint and pulling it to expose the joint will allow the shelf to be folded down.KEY TO DIAGRAM:1. SHELF DOWN, SPRING UNDER TENSION2. SHELF BEING RAISED3. SHELF HORIZONTAL, SPRING RELAXED, &＃39;A&＃39; HAS SLID ALONG &＃39;CD&＃39; LOCKING IT INTO HORIZONTAL POSITIONB ��wooden partition wall, 20 mm thickA - wooden shelf, also 20 mm thickCD -the component (knuckle/elbow/pivot/hinge/clevis/cardan) I seek from youC ��side of hinge cemented into B. Can be: (a) of any length but a minimum of 25 mm long (b) internally or externally threaded or not (c) 8,9,10,11,or 12 mm in diameter (ideally 10 mm)D ��side of hinge that slides into A and attached to A at bottom of hole by extension spring. Can be: (a) of any length but a minimum of 25 mm long (b) must be the same diameter as C (c) preferably threaded internally or with some other means of attaching spring EE ��extension spring and attachment As you can see, the pivot or hinge that is familiar from the base of any radio antenna is very close to what I am after. However antenna hinges are too light (6 mm dia ?).
