It was established, at the island of Limnos, from Emmanouel Psarras, who was a sponge diver, harvesting sponges from the depths of the Aegean Sea. After 20 years his son in law, Varnalis D. Panagiotis, took over and evolved this family business. Since 2006, Varnalis P. Dimitris runs "Spongean", maintaining traditional methods of processing, as well as high quality of the sponges offered. Spongean is dealing with sponges from all over the world serving the local market and exporting as well. Natural sea sponges are suitable for facial and body cleaning.
