As a Polymer Engineer, Ivan Fernandez established Ivan & Ivan LLC in 2010. The Mission: Design, develop and supply a complete product line that offers different levels of Biosafety to users that are exposed to different levels of risk while they carry out their work. The knowledge to design these innovative products comes from more than 17 years of experiece that began with the manufacturing nonwovens with German Reifenhauser equipment as well as designing and manufacturing disposable medical drapes, gowns, surgical masks, shoe covers and many other disposable devices made with nonwoven materials as well as distributing gloves, retractable syringes, needle free valves, IV Sets and many other BIOSAFETY product lines. Each market has to be segmented and product lines have to be developed to better satisfy the needs of the user. A team of doctors that are operating a patient with HIV or Hepatitis have to protect themselves differently than when they operate a healthy child with an ingrown toe nail. We designed a High Risk Surgery Kit for this application to protect a team of 6 doctors and nurses. Contact us with your product requirements, target prices and we will offer an existing solution or design a new one. Each product design has 3 key elements that determine its eficacy: DESIGN, RAW MATERIALS AND THE PRODUCT FINISH. In the design we determine the appropriate size, shape, thickness, etc... of each component. The RAW MATERIALS are very important as well and choosing the correct material will vary the properties such as water repellency, alcohol repelency, etc... The product FINISH usually takes into consideration packaging, sterilization, printing and little details that make the product that much better. An end result of the design is the product cost and understanding this concept allows us to do what we call reverse design. We can also reverse design a product in order to obtain a desired cost savings target. Working with the client to understand the needs to make the correct decisions in the desing to create a new product that is taylor made to the satisfy those needs. A new age of polymer raw materials, additives, coatings, polymer blends and process machinery allows a lot of room to be creative in the design.Outsourcing production of the components of the new design also allows us to distribute risks by establishing supplier redundancy. If a nonwoven supplier in Japan closes after a Typhoon or an injection molding firm closes in Italy because of an earthquake, we have a back up supplier to continue to maintain the supply chain. Final assembly, packaging and sterilization is also important in determining the final product cost, but even more important in the final product quality. Ivan & Ivan LLC subcontracts third party independent Quality Control companies that continously takes samples for evaluation, realize factory audits and offer QC services. The product lines we offer have been designed with hours of attention to detail. If we do not have what you are looking for, we will be happy to work with you to design a product that meets your product needs and target prices. Our sales office is conveniently located in Doral, minutes away from Miami International Airport. Final assembly is done in Gainesville, just a 90 minute drive north of Orlando.
