Company Introduction

Dear Buyer,We are a small scale community based logging company operating out of Siassi, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. We do selective logging of Kwila logs paying straight to the traditional landowners for each tree cut. We also cut on site with any offcuts sawn to treeowners specs and given to them for their own needs. We employ approximately 10-15 villagers to assist with the sawmilling with 5 of the locals handling the machinery (having previously worked with Malaysian logging companies in PNG). We pay them at an agreed rate per month. For may of the landowners and the villagers this is the only form of formal income that they receive.We can cut on average 40-50m3 of Kwila timber per month. We normally cut to any length less than 5.7mtrs, with a maximum cut size is 200mmx 200mm / 8x8 inchs. However, if the supplier requires specific sizes we can accomadate for this as long as we are given 1 months notice.Having only been established in 2006 we are currently selling only to local buyers and using the money earned to sustain our business.
