C&D was approved to operate import and export business in 1985 and authorized to engage in foreign trade on a nation-wide basis in 1987. The volume of import & export in 2002 was USD690,000,000 versus USD23,400,000 in 1985. Since 1990, C&D has been successively ranked among the Top 500 Chinese foreign trade companies in terms of import & export volume.
