Company Introduction
The original factory -Cermica Burg - was founded in May 7th, 1954, and the main product was "Portuguese" clay roof tiles. They still being produced nowadays and you can find them being supplied to construction material shops, builders, representatives and another roof tile factories. It has been supplying the building materials market with roof tiles made of fired clay, using the "via hmida" (wet clay) / extruded technique. The transformation of this fine mineral into upscale Burg tiles, always respecting nature while preserving its beauty. Besides Cermica Burg concerns regarding manufacturing their products, there is a huge environmental preoccupation. Preservation begins with the extraction of clay. Before starting any sort of extraction activity, we develop a project that provides recovery of all extraction area, from marking spaces to be made reforestation with native species, recovering the fauna and flora of the original site, in strict compliance with environmental standards of the State Foundation of Environmental Conservation (FEPAM). Thus, at the end of the work, rather than degradation, the result is a green area with fully integrated patterns of local forests. The need to survive in a highly competitive market in the building industry requires a ceramic factory to modify their strategic postures, thus seeking to tailor their products always aiming to lower cost and better quality. In 2004 Burg has won his first quality certificate, linked to their product - the Portuguese roof tile. At that time the certificate was granted through Ceramic Center of Brazil ( Centro Cermico do Brasil), the "INMETRO" certfication and the CCB for the Natural Portuguese roof tile. Always trying to improve its management system, in 2005, Ceramica Burg begins the implementation of the program for certification of ISO 9001/2000, when we assessed the Quality Management System for the development, manufacture and marketing of Natural and Glazed Ceramic Roof Tiles . This certificate was also granted by the CCB (Ceramic Center of Brazil) who evaluated the system Ceramic Burg at the time. With the intention to seek new markets in 2009, Burg acquired an area of land in the town of Feliz-RS, for the construction of a new unit, which in future would be called INCOTELHA. Initially the new plant produced fired clay roof tiles, the same patterns of Burg. But in 2011, with a market opening for superior products with higher added value, INCOTELHA initiates an industry of Gres tiles - dry pressed process tiles - also know as `floor tiles` process, a product 100% "Gaucho". After numerous accredited laboratory tests; the first production of INCOTELHA Gres tile starts in September 2012 , with a spread like no other. INCOTELHA produces the biggest Brazilian gres roof tile with 11.3 tiles per square meter in a uniformity of size, color and weight that only this process allows - manufactured in the same process of the floor ceramic tiles - ensures customers a superior product. It has an advanced design and the water absortion is below 6%. It has been over half century of history, a lot of work and research, so then we can have INCOTELHA!
