This is done by heating wood or other substanceswithout oxygen. This results in a soft, lightweight, black, porousmaterial resembling coal and is 65% to 87% carbon with theremainder consisting of volatile chemicals and ash. The kola nut containscaffeine and is used to produce energy drinks, chewing gum,cosmetics, and beverages; hence it is in high demands bymanufacturing companies.
