Acai grows in a palm found in the damp margins of the Amazon River. It is very perishable making it difficult to obtain in the form of fresh whole fruit. Acai fruit is rich in lipids, flavonoids, polyphenols, and Vitamin E. It has a high fiber content and has a high concentration of Vitamin B and anthocyanin known by its antioxidant activity.
