Hideout New Zealand is a family run business that discovered an opportunity to use New Zealand&＃39;s (NZ) natural resources such as cowhide, possum fur and lambs wool. Our exclusive product range is functional yet stylish, with each piece being completely individual and totally unique. We believe in making our environment a better place to live in, so why not create something beautiful out of NZ Possum which is a major pest and an environmental disaster here in NZ. They continue to destroy our native forests and bird life at an alarming rate. We have worked closely with top fashion designers to provide our customers with a range of luxurious home decor items, furnishings and fashion accessories in NZ Cowhide and NZ Possum Fur which we hope you will like. We are catering for a niche market who appreciates the finer things in life. All our designer products are a timeless statement for each indiviudal who value quality, style and their own unique personality. All our products are designed and manufactured in NZ by highly skilled craftsman. All the skins and hides we use are hand selected and are by-products of the meat industry. Each hide is completely different to the next with natural characteristic markings so no two are the same. Naturally our possum furs are all first grade skins which are chrome tanned. This means that the skins are drycleanable resulting in colourfast colours. They are the best possum furs available as there is very little natural odour, each product is drycleanable and for dyed possum furs, the colour will not run if they get wet. Possum fur is 8% warmer and 14% lighter than wool-even softer than mink! We have a unique line of top quality fashion accessories from our timeless handbags all made from NZ Cowhide, our calfskin slippers and our luxurious furs from daytime scarves to evening wraps all in NZ possum fur. Our opulent possum fur throws / blankets are absolutely beautiful and made to a very high standard.
