Shu Brocade is one of the four famous brocades in China and has had a history of more than 2, 000 years. Started from the Spring-Autumn Period and the Warring States Period and flourished in the Han and Tang dynasties, Shu Brocade is a bright pearl in the ancient material civilization of the Chinese Nation. Early in 1908, Shu Brocade received a golden award on Panama World's fair. In 1917, Shu Brocade won international gold award during the EXPO held in Southeast Asia. In 1937, Shu Brocade won the 'Award of Oriental Beauty' during the World EXPO held in New York, USA.The sericulture industry of Sichuan in the Han and Tang dynasties was at the height of splendor. The Shu Brocade at that time was not only a tribute to the imperial court, but also an award of the imperial court to princes, marquises and aristocrats. The ancient Shu Brocade, *****, the Five-Star Brocade unearthed from the tomb of the king or Jingjue Kingdom in Niya Site of Xinjiang, is the evidence. Aline goes like this, 'Shu Brocade is so famous that its price is as high as that of gold'. Because of Shu Brocade, Chengdu got its name as the City of Brocade and its moat as River Brocade. It is an important component of Chengdu, a famous historical and cultural city. Through it has had a history of more than 2, 000 years, Shu Brocade is still on the up grade due to its rich cultural and artistic connotation as well as unique process and technique. Therefore, Shu Brocade must be loyal to its unique process and technique, and stick to the original, local and national interweaving process line, so as not to lose its beauty and verve.Sticking to this principle, Chengdu Shu Brocade Handicraft Factory has had innovations in aspects of the pattern originality, process design, color-matching and mechanical equipment of Shu Brocade, and realized the multiple-weft interweaving technique consisting of 7 shuttles and 36 colors. In addition, it also overcome the defects of computerized digital interweaving process that result in dull and obscure tint as well as bald and simple texture. This traditional process is owned exclusively by Chengdu Shu Brocade Handicraft Factory. In order to differentiate from brocade products of other manufacturers, all the brocade products produced by our factory are named 'ancient Shu Brocade'.Shu Brocade is endowed with rich cultural and artistic connotation as well as value for appreciation and collection.
