Company Introduction
Indicaa was incorporated in 1993 under the Companies Law of Isle ofMan, UK. Shortly afterwards, Â the company set up operations inDubai, UAE. Beginning with trading of steel products, the Companysoon identified Ferrous Scrap Metal trade as the key focus area anddecided to exploit the huge potential in containerized scrap metaltrade hitherto unexplored, especially between the Middle East andthe Indian Subcontinent.By 1999, the Company made its foray into procurement in Africa withamazing results. Indicaa then expanded into marketing of scrapmetal to South-East Asia and a little later into Vietnam, where itwas a pioneer in this field. Â The successful expansion pushedIndicaa's annual volumes to 500,000 tons by 2005. Indicaa stillcontinues to scout for new markets & sources. Â With risingdemand from Europe and USA for export of scrap metal in containers,Indicaa started procuring from Western countries and has not lookedback ever since.Today, Indicaa commands nearly one-fourth of the global marketshare in containerized scrap metal. Indicaa's pioneering formulaof transporting scrap metal in containers gives it a superior edgein Asia, as it satisfies various types of end-users with diverserequirements of quality, quantity and varying buying patterns.Since 2009 the global economic recovery has been picking upmomentum. Powered by its rapidly expanding geographical span insourcing and marketing of recyclables, Indicaa has targeted atrading volume of 1 Million tons for 2013.Indicaa's success is largely driven by its strength and expertisein logistics globally. Over the years, the Company has assembled aworld-class infrastructure that enables it to efficiently handlefleet of containers in different parts of the world, throughseamless adaptation and synergies with top global shipping linesthat follow their own operating procedures.Annually, Indicaa handles close to 40,000 TEUs (Twenty feetEquivalent Units).
