    AboutKachiranKachiran was found in 1980, aimingto manufacture high quality home sewing machines to meet the localdemand and to export to other countries around the world. Kachiranfactory was set up in Qazvin, 150km northwest of capitalTehran. Before Kachiran was established,the local demand for sewing machines had to be fulfilled throughimports as the manufacturing capabilities simply did not exist. Tobenefit from the latest technology and expertise, Kachiran thenentered into a joint venture with the highly acclaimed sewingmachine manufacturer PFAFF. Soon after, the structural works forthe manufacturing site began to shape and by early 1991, themachineries were ready to be installed by the Germanpartners. Finally in late 1991, aninauguration ceremony was held to mark the launch of the firstsewing machine assembly line in Iran with Trade Minister and othertop officials present to celebrate this moment. However within thenext 4 years, Kachiran endeavoured to move away from assemblingsewing machines to manufacturing them and invested heavily in thelatest machineries to achieve this ambitious objective.  After just two years, Kachiran wasable to design and manufacture their very own range of sewingmachines using local knowledge and expertise. This meant thatcustomers could now buy a high quality sewing machine, at acompetitive price. But it did not just stop there and in 1998,Kachiran signed an agreement with Janome to further improve theirranging and product offering. But today more than 85% of the partsare manufactured locally, making Kachiran independent of foreignsupports.Products:At the moment Kachiran manufactures21 different models of sewing machines to suit every need both inthe local market and worldwide. Four new models will also be addedto the line up in very near future, including a fully computerisedsewing machine.Today Kachiran is the dominantplayer in the local market with over 90% market share. Thanks toquality products, competitive prices and reliable warrantiesKachiran have now become the most popular sewing machine vendor inIran.As the largest manufacturer ofsewing machines in the Middle East, at full capacity, Kachiran arecapable of manufacturing 300,000 machines in a year in which casesome of their 80 partner companies should work round the clock tofulfil the increased demand for parts.   Awards:Quality has always been a toppriority for Kachirans and this philosophy has help the companyachieve numerous quality certificates and awards including ISO9001-2000, ISO 14001, CE and SASO. Exports:From the very beginning, foundersof Kachiran always believed that the long term outlook of thecompany should be set on international markets.
