    Karum Mining was established in 2005 to engage in importing and marketing heating coal; and expanded its area of operations in 2007 to engage in imports of industrial coal (steam coal) and exports of cement. Karum Mining is managed in a collective and dynamic institutional approach by the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors, and Directorate of Foreign Trade, Directorate of Administrative and Financial Affairs, Directorate of Logistics and Operations reporting to the Board; and sub-units under such directorates. The company head office is located in Ankara. The Coal Sieving-Packaging Plant and the Big-Bag Cement Packaging Plant are located at Kılı§lar locality between Ankara and Kırıkkale (Kılı§lar train station and vicinity). Rail and maritime transport is employed mostly in import and export operations of the company.
