Company Introduction
Large scale Adivasi Multi-Purpose cooperative Society (LAMPS) have been working in the tribal areas of Koppa, Shringeri and ***** taluks of Chikkamagalore district since 1979. The society is established to cater the needs of the tribals in the region wherein membership is restricted to tribal people who are above the age group of 18 years. A Committee consisting of 10 members elected among the members of the Society and three members nominated by Government as exofficio directors. Deputy Conservator of Forest, Koppa , Karnataka Forest Department is exofficio President of the Society and one Tribe Vice-President of the Society elected among directors. Products from LAMPS : LAMPS products are marketed with a brand name Vanasiri meaning forest wealth. Important LAMPS products are Honey, Cinnamon leaves, Shikhakai powder, Garcinia rind and Sambrani. Apart from these , certain products which are sold locally are bamboo mats, Pandanus mats, Bamboo baskets, broomsticks etc.
