MARKIN leads the world's small diameter steel tubing manufacturers, producing the highest quality steel tubing for nearly 50 years. Our mills produce welded low carbon steel tubing to a variety of specifications including SAE J-356, SAE J-526, ASTM A-513 type 2, ASTM SA 214 and A178. Our tubing is available in plain, copper flash or Galfan® coated finishes. MARKIN's proprietary Galfan® coating process creates a corrosion preventive layer comprised of 95% zinc and 5% aluminum that protects the tubing. In addition, aluminum-rich epoxy paint is usually applied on top of the Galfan® coating for a superior corrosion-fighting bond - available in either gray or black top coats. Once applied, the tubing is then cured in an oven to set the coating surface. Whether you are looking for MARKIN's signature plain tubing or our corrosion resistant Galfan®, MARKIN has the tubing solutions to fulfill all of your requirements. MARKIN is one of the few manufacturers that buy low carbon steel in coils rather than pre-slit. Slitting the steel in-house has several advantages for our Customers. In-house slitting gives MARKIN the ability to rapidly respond to changing customer production requirements without having to wait for an outside processor. MARKIN can set up the slitting machinery, slit the steel and have material to the tube mills in just hours! In-house slitting also results in less edge contamination, which can occur during storage and transportation. Because Markin operates on the principles of Just In Time (JIT) manufacturing, the slitter machinery only operates when you need material, providing the best edge conditions possible for high weld integrity. Additionally, in-house slitting enables MARKIN to trace each coil or length of tube back to the master coil. Our internal tracking system allows us to trace the information back to the exact date that the material was processed, slit and even melt from our steel suppliers.
