    Somany FoamLimited, anISO9001:2008certifiedcompany, a group company of Hindustan National Glass &Industries Limited (HNGIL), wish to diversify its area ofoperations from Packaging  to consumer durables, the firststep out was taken when the group put up its first PolyurethaneFoam plant in Haridwar (Uttarakhand) onOctober4, 2006. HNGIL foundedin1944,hascarved a niche for itself in the Industrial map of India. Over the years, it has grown multifold byover150timesagainst all odds and problems confronting the industry. The companyhas its plants at Rishra near Kolkata, Bahadurgarh in Haryana, nearDelhi, Rishikesh (Uttarakhand), Nasik (Maharashtra), andPondicherry & Neemrana (Rajasthan). The other industries under HNGIL Groupcompanies are HNG Glassware units, HNG Float Glass, AMCL MachineryLimited, Glass Equipment (I) Ltd. (GEIL),&SomanyFoam Ltd.(SFL) About modernization, in the words of Mr.C.K. Somany (Chairman) of the Group; “To me, more important than the size andvolume of production, is the quality and productivity.  Inorder to keep pace with the advanced countries and theirmanufacturing process, it becomes absolutely necessary to carry outresearch and development program and substitute traditionalmachines and process with modern ones.” Somany Foam Limited has a capacity ofproducing 10000 MT plus of Polyurethane Foam per annum and isequipped with best of machineries and equipment globally availabletoday.  FoamingMachine: The MAXFOAM F-8 2020, fully computercontrolled, is a foaming machine for continuous production offlexible Polyurethane foam in flat topped blocks. The MAXFOAMmachine works by the low pressure one-shot principle, by pumpingcomponents from their respective tanks through accurate meteringequipment to a mixer head where they are intermixed by high speedstirring. This MAXFOAMF-82020foaming machine is capable of producing10 to 60 Density (Kg/cu.m) polyurethane foam blocks in widths upto2400mm andheight up to 1400 mm. Being in-built high speed mixer, foamproduction is with minimum pin holes and finest quality foam.Advantage of computer controlled over other conventional foamingmachine is: once the desired foam qualities is achieved with setformulations and satisfy the customer need then “FORMULATION CAN BESAVED” and whenever the same quality foam is needed, can beproduced with the same FORMULATION enable to achieve consistent inquality. This MAXFOAM F-8 2020 foaming machine isfully automatic; computer controlled, flat maxtop arrangement andwith variable tunnel widths - is the first machine installed inAsia pacific region at Somany Foam Limited. Apart from the bestplant machineries, equipment and infrastructures, SFL is equippedwith well qualified and trained technical team to produce qualityproducts.   PeelingMachine (i.e. Looper):  Fully automatic and Computercontrolled supplied from ALBRETCH BAEUMER GmbH & Co., Germany,is the only kind of machine installed in India to accommodate 62.5meters long block. Special feature of this machine is: JOINT comesafter 62.5 meters, peels block continuously and capable of peeling1.5mm to 30mm thickness without any risk of thickness variation.Advantageous to Laminators is as they get minimum joint as comparedto other foam supplier in turn they save rejection offabric. Our normal and regular production inpeeling is18 & 23Densityfoam. Laminator’s width requirements vary50”, 52”,54”, 56”, 58”, 60”, 63”, 80” & 84”. Coloris: White / Grey / Black.Special foam for shoeindustries:23D, 40D& 60D HARD is manufactured on orderonly. In our peeled foam, Laminators haveconfirmed that there is NO THICKNESS VARIATION & LESS BURNINGLOSS (observed during flame lamination) as compared to ourcompetitors. Shoe industry where our direct foamsupply is – Action shoe, Liberty shoe, Lancer shoe and throughLaminators regional shoe manufacturers.Automobile industry where our foamsupply is through Laminators. LongBlock Storage and TransportSystem: From Ingenieria Del Poliuretano Flexible(IPF) of Spain. Handling a long block of 62.5 meters is a tediousjob without a single manpower except person gives command tocomputer. SFL can maintain inventory of 200MT foam comfortably onany single day with this storage system. Presently 24 racks arethere in which 24 blocks can be stored. Processing / Cuttingmachineries:  From ALBRETCH BAEUMER GmbH &Co., Germany and SUNKIST Machinery & Chemicals, Taiwan. SFL ishaving 2 Vertical cutting, 2 Horizontal slitting machines apartfrom special cutting machines like Contour cutting, Profilecutting, Boring & Peeling, Pillow edge cuttingmachines.  QualityControl / Laboratory Test: SFL if equipped with complete range oftesting equipment like Hardness Tester, Tensile Strength Tester,Elongation Tester, Shear Fatigue Tester, Thickness Tester,Measuring Scales, Block temperature testing probe, Heat &Humidity Ageing Tester / Chamber, Flammability Tester & Cellcounter etc. Also we are assuring dimensional accuracy test 100%before dispatch the goods to destination. Apart from the best plant machineries,equipment and infrastructures, SFL is equipped with well qualifiedand trained technical personnel to produce qualityproducts. Company cares the customer requirementespecially for foam-quality and tolerance limit. From verybeginning we are being given guidelines from the top management tofollow and adhere with stringent quality norms keeping in view thecustomer requirements. Within very short span of time, on growingcustomer demand, we are operating on two shifts basis and likely togo for third shift too soon. For transportation, company has theirown fleet of transport with covered body, to cater goods in timeand safe. Our endeavor is to cater the supply within 24 hours ofgetting order/s and accordingly company keeps inventory of alltypes foam.  OurINDUSTRIAL & PEELED products ranges are asunder:   Branded Industrial Peeled Rolls PU Foam Mattress (23,28,32,40,50D) Cushion Sofa ‘n’ Bed (Single, Double) Perfect Couch (Single, Double) Back Cushion (Puff, Fiber) Pillow (Puff, Fiber) L,XL Contour Pillow – L,XL Bolster – M,XL Quilted Mattress (Coir & Re-bonded)     Cut sheets Cushion Profiled sheet 18 & 23D Foam, Thickness: 1.5 to 30 mm Fire retardant: (26, 28, 32,40, 45 & 60Density in white, Grey & Black colour), Hard Foam:18, 23, 32, 40 & 60Density, Width: 52”to84”and joints would come after62.5 meters.   Our other INDUSTRIAL products areRe-bonded foam in the range of 80 to 110 densities (which we makeregularly on market demand). On order we may manufacture up to 160Density foam too. Our re-bonded plant is completelyautomatic, supplied by SUNKIST Chemical & Machinery Ltd.,Taiwan. We make re-bonded foam with pure foam scrap + virginchemicals (Polyol & TDI) curing with steam – not like othermanufacturer who makes with bonded glue. Our capacity is –16BUNSper dayof size: 77”x75”x thickness depending upon Density. In usual coursefor example 85D bun will be of 17” height.
