Company Introduction
The government of the Republic People�s of Bangladesh (GOB) has received a loan from the Kuwait fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) towards the cost of implementation of second SHITALAKHYA BRIDGE PROJECT including its approaches on the DHAKA-DEMRA-NARSHINGDI-SYLHET National Highway under Dhaka RHD Zone of Bangladesh it is intended that a part of the proceeds of this loan will be used for eligible payment the contract for which this invitation for pre-qualification is issued.2. Disbursement of the KFAED loan by the RHD will be subject to loan agreement between GOB and KFAED no party other then the GOB will derive any rights from the loan agreement or have any claim to the loan proceedsThe above loan agreement will cove a major part of the Project cost for the remaining cost, the GOB will take appropriate measures for finance.3. The Roads and Highway Department (RHD) under the Ministry of communication, Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh (herein after referred to as �Employer�) intends to pre-qualify contractors for construction of second Shitalakhya Bridge Project and its approaches at Demra.4. The major construction works include.(a) Main Bridge =396m : Cast�in-situ Prestressed concrete (PSC) Box girder type superstructure involving segmental cantilever construction with RCC caisson type foundation.(b) Approach bridge =676m : PSC Box girder type superstructure with bored including viaduct: cast � situ pile foundation. Approach 760m earthen embankments with RCC retaining walls at sides.(d) Pavement: Asphaltic concret
