However as the demand for these items increases the availability of truly unique and genuine items with a personal touch has given away to mass production and a focus on volume sales to tourists and overseas clients alike. This is a shame as Thai craftsmanship is still very much alive for now, but due to the commercial effects of mass production the local craftsmen are being neglected as China becomes the hub of so called crafts production in Asia and individuality and creativity slowly becomes a thing of the past.Working with small family handcraft businesses that have the desire to produce uniquely designed and crafted items for a worldwide audience is the backbone of the Thai Bamboo dot net venture.
