    TIMES FERRO ALLOYS LTD [TFAL] was incorporated in June, 2004 under the Indian Companies Act,1956 bearing no.21-096228 for setting up a Ferro alloys plant at Barjora, Bankura, WB for manufacturing Ferro Silicon & Silicon Manganese used in the manufacturing of steel. The company has already setup a 6 MVA arc furnace for manufacturing Ferro Silicon/ Silicon Manganese with an annual capacity of 11,500 MT at Barjora in the backward district of Bankura which commenced its commercial production in June, 2008. TFAL has decided to setup another unit for manufacturing Ferro Manganese (FeMn) adjacent to existing Silico Manganese unit at Barjora, Bankura for constant demand of Ferro Manganese in domestic market. In this connection the company will install a 9 MVA arc furnace for the production of 19,500 MT Ferro Manganese per annum.Considering the future outlook of the industry and the demand for Ferro Manganese and Silicon Manganese has been increasing with the revisions in policy making by the government. The policy decision of the Govt. with regard to its thrust area in infrastructure and housing construction activities has benefited the steel industry. As a result the promoters have seized the idea to go into for further expansion by applying 9 MVA Arc furnace to install second plant at the same location with an installed capacity of 19,500 MTA.
