GypsumBoard UMIs plant is the largest in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia andis capable of producing high quality gypsum board in a variety oftypes and sizes. The complete line of products is characterized byultra-bending strength, ultra bonding strength between the paperand core, a smooth and uniform surface and comparatively lightweight. The products can be used in a wide range of applications,including wall partitions, wall lining and ceilings. Gypsum PowderUMI achieves the highest plaster quality through Claudius PetersKettle Indirect Calcination. This superior calcination processtakes advantage of narrow particle size distribution (PSD)attributed to the advanced grinding equipment and increases productstrength through kettle calcination. Despite the similarity insetting time (4-6 minutes) with gypsum manufactured using thetraditional rotary calcination process which employs direct firing,kettle plaster exhibits greater strength and lower water demand.The kettle calcination process is slower than flash calcination orrotary calcination and produces homogenous, well-shaped crystalsthat are lower in BET surface and have high grain stability.
