Company Introduction
My start with wood floors began in 1985 working for my brother's hardwood floor company. As I learned the business "from the bottom up", I found that I really liked working in the wood floor business. After marrying my wife in 1987, I left actual field work and began supervising residential and commercial wood flooring projects in my hometown of Houston, TX. Over time, more of my clients were concentrated in the more elite neighborhoods in the Houston marketplace. These clients were looking for custom widths, unique character or unusual species to set their floor apart from the ordinary. Most of my local material sources carried only the most basic of material choices. I was often asked by my customers to find a "not so common" wood floor choice. During my searches outside the Houston market, I began to find small manufacturers and suppliers who were unknown outside of their region. These sources and their unique products formed the basis of our idea to start Warehouse Rustics.In 2001 we formed Warehouse Rustics with the sole purpose to bring the "not so common" wood floor options to individual home owners, custom builders, space planners and interior designers. You can find some of our current finds on our "NOT SO COMMON" page. In 2007 we made the decision to relocate our family (and Warehouse Rustics) to my wife's hometown in Searcy, Arkansas. The slower pace of small town life has allowed our family and business to become more balanced and that has suited both well.We recently have added a prefinished wood floor line that we think offers some "not so common" distressed/hand scraped choices that set this line apart from the ordinary seen in today's flooded marketplace.
