Since the beginning of WTO, trade barriers including tariff imposition and import restriction have been decreasing in the world with the expansion of free trade, and globalization. However, in the name of the protection of the environment of each nation and the security and health of its people, non-tariff barriers such as technical specifications, standards, and authentication are rapidly expanding and a new paradigm of TBT(Technical Barriers of Trade) has been being formed across the whole industry areas including, particularly, our mainstay export areas such chemistry, textile, electricity, electronics, automobiles and machinery. With the execution of the Kyoto Protocol on climate change and the new EU Chemicals Policy(REACH), variousrestrictions on greenhouse gas and environment are being reinforced in many countries, and brought a change in the industrial structures of them to survive.Accordingly, environment related parts and materials have been under development in Korea too through active construction and support of R&D infrastructure. However, in reality, we are faced with a lot of difficulties due to a lack of base research facilities and relatively low level of technology.With a ride on this wave of the times and our predictability for the future demand of these technologies, ANCI have developed many technologies related with environment and new materials by participating various government projects.Our technologies have objectively been evaluated as superior both in technology and business perspectives through getting international patents for them and passing performance tests of various professional test institutes.
