Company Introduction
Foreseeing the future improvement of tourism industry in Jeju Island, 1st president of the late Cheong Deok-heon had established Korea Indigenous Product Company on May 11, 1973 at the building, Nammun Branch of Jeju Bank, employing 10 staff members.Owing to poor infrastructure of tourism, a small number of tourists and the lack of understanding of tourism, business management was very difficult at the initial stage. However, overcoming adversities by solidairty, cooperation, harmony and innovation between staff members, company was extended to 264m2 of shop in Yeong-dong in 1980, with 12 employees.Since the revitalization of tourism industry in 1980s, head office was constructed(1,983m2) in September 1987 at 908-5, Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City and also established Korea Souvenir Department Store Co., Ltd in 1990.After the founder passed away in August 2002, Cheong Soon-ja has been inaugurated as 2nd president in May, 2003. Since then, we have reached at present position together with 20 employees, at 3.5 billion won of annual sales volume, as a sound enterprise in Korea.
