Company Introduction
Research Institute of Cosmic and Aviation Materials was created in 1987. It was a time of the beginning of collapse of the Russian science and industry. The founders of the Institute Aristov Vasiliy Fedorovich and Anikin Vladimir Mickhailovich, was working that time at the State Research Institute of chemical-photographic industry (Pereslavl branch). Public funding of this institute initially drastically reduced and it had to lay off most of the staff, and since 1990 the state funding was cut completely and subsequently Pereslavl branch of GosNIIHimFotoProekt has been completely eliminated, all of its employees laid off, and the buildings began to rent out.In order to retain the ability to do science Aristov V.F. and Anikin V.M. create Research - production cooperative "Myisl" (1987). In 1996, RPC "Myisl" was reorganized into CJSC "Research Institute of Cosmic and Aviation Materials" (CJSC NIIKAM). Since 1987 till present time, the institute has not received a ruble from the state budget of the Soviet Union or Russia. All the money we get, we get from space enterprises of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, USA, France, India, etc. for development, manufacture and supply of advanced materials for spacecraft and carrier rockets.Our first materials we have developed during the collapse of the Soviet Union, then the entire production of materials for spacecraft screen-vacuum insulation was concentrated in Latvia (Riga) on pilot plant "Vacumnie pokritia" (development) and "Sidrabe" (production). After Latvia gained independence, production of these materials has been terminated and the Russian space industry was left without a number of heat-shielding and insulating materials. Science did not funded that time, and to get funds for the development of these materials was not possible, so our institute received an advance payment for a "word of honor" for the supply of materials that we could not even produce. On these little money we collected non-working equipment that dumped companies of Pereslavl-Zalessky and Moscow, with our own hands we "revive" this equipment, reworked, developed the technology and produce ordered materials.The NIIKAM complex includes both research laboratories (Institute), as well as plant for the production of cosmic materials, main owner and CEO of the Institute and plant is one - Aristov Vasiliy Fedorovich. On our plant we produce only what is developed (and usually patented) at our Institute.To date, NIIKAM has developed and mastered the production of more than 55 different materials for unmanned spacecraft, manned spacecraft, launch vehicles, spacesuits.The company develops. In 2009 - 2010 years output growth was 25-30%, the number of employees during that time increased by about 20% a year, the production area grew during this period by 4 times. In 2010 we developed, patented and mastered the production of 4 new material for cosmonautics in Russia and other countries.Research Institute of Cosmic and Aviation Materials is located in Pereslavl-Zalessky of Yaroslavl region. There we bought a part of the building of the former factory of magnetic tapes, the former company "Slavich".
