HistoryIn 1973, Oto Uzay started his business life in Taksim Tarlabasi as a retail store. In 1970s the company used to sell only locally produced automobile spare parts and accessories which left their place to imported products through time. In 1981, Oto Uzay built a 2500 squaremeter factory in Topkapi where the company started to manufacture its own products and a 1500 squaremeter main office building in Taksim for the sales and general management departments. In 1994 to enlarge its sales market and provide full service to all the geographic regions in Turkey, the company assigned two sales representatives and a mobile truck full of Oto Uzay products to each region and became very successful with this new marketing strategy. At present Oto Uzay is operating in its 17000 metersquare plaza situated in downtown Istanbul. Product portfolioThe product portfolio consists of universal accessories appropriate for all automobile, SUV, minivan, minibus and truck brands. Alarm, snow chain, ski holders, care products, air fresheners, sunshields, seat cushions, seat covers, car covers, car mats, arm holders, speakers, telephone glass and sunglass holders, 12 V refrigerators, picnic sets, all types of lamps and projectors, fire extinguishers, first aid sets, spare battery and booster cables, compressor types are some of the more than 1000 accessory categories that the company possesses under Space brand.
