For the company creation of extremely cheap products and technologies for use in industrial production is priority. We offer the Stretched-and-twisted graphite - its a new-generation material consisting of pure carbon that differs from the all known varieties of graphite by its structure.It is long ago when chemists discovered various rough methods of splitting graphite crystallites into fragments along inter atomic planes; the corresponding materials were named thermo expanded graphite, swollen graphite, frothed graphite, USVR etc. Atomic nets, broken off this way, are chaotically mixed, forming amorphous matter with very large surface area.Our patented material named "stretch-and-twisted graphite" is distinguished by that that crystallites subjected to a milder treatment do not disintegrate but move apart and turn around along the jointing planes, not losing contacts between them. The material obtained has the same large surface area and relatively high strength. It may even be pressed anew into a solid sample with the strength similar to that of original graphite. Stretched-and-twisted graphite differs from the above-listed modifications primarily by its lower cost and wide range of possible applications.At present, the following applications of stretched-and-twisted graphite are recognized as promising, and the appropriate researches are under way:1. Sorbents for the purification and freshening of natural water, the freshening of industrial water from industry gene contaminants and the gathering of valuable metals, the purification of waste water, the purification of water and soil from oil and other contaminants, the purification of air from aerosols and noxious gases, including tobacco smoke.2. Pressed materials for highly loaded and high-temperature graphite stuffing-box bearings, gaskets, foils.3. Press high-temperature materials for manufacturing crucibles, casting molds, electrodes, thermal insulation components.4. Catalyst agents and substances for their production.5. Fertilizers and subsoil moisture accumulators.All sorbents of the "Carbon"-family (their total number comes to more than twenty names) are distinguished by high specific surface area and adsorbing capacity, low pouring density, low cost."Carbon"-sorbents have uniquely high capability to retain viscous liquid, e.g. oil and oil products.The substances are chemically inert, electro-conducting, durable; they conserve their properties in acidic and alkaline agents, in air - up to 700C, in vacuum or inert gas - up to about 4300C; they are ecologically pure and obtain the possibility to extract toxic hydrocarbons present in the emulsified and gaseous state; they are hydrophobic. All varieties of "Carbon" - sorbents are issued in the shape of black-color powder with metallic luster, fineness being 0.6 - 0.2 mm, pouring density - 0.004 - 0.17 g/cm3.
